Project Description

Christ College in Brecon is one of Britain’s most ancient schools; For three hundred years it was a Dominican friary before King Henry VIII established a school here in 1541 by Royal Charter. In 1855 the modern ‘public’ school was founded by Act of Parliament and they currently cater for around 350 pupils.

In 2011 Signs Now were invited to consult and quote on the supply of complete new signage for the school. Existing signs were aged (see right above) and not portraying the right image for the school.

Our first step was to visit the college and undertake a full site survey based upon their ideas and needs along with us suggesting signs looking at things from an outsiders’ point of view.

We then sat down and talked through options providing examples of previous projects along with samples. Once we had agreed on the ideal solutions we then produced a full itemised quotation along with a set of proposal drawings. The college provided us with their branding so we could do these drawings superimposed onto photos to accompany the quotation. The time and attention spent on detail during the survey, drawings and quote enabled the school to see exactly what was being proposed so they could make informed decisions on the ways forward.

As with all similar projects, all signs were then produced and fitted by qualified in house installers. We supplied a range of different Deluxe Post & Panel signs, and many wall mounted box tray signs.

All signs have been favorably received as Kieran Dempsey, Bursar of Christ College points out in the following testimonial.
